In framework of cooperation between ELARABY group, the Egyptian government, and international organizations to develop environment-friendly factories, a delegation from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has made a visit to ELARABY’s air conditioner factory. The delegation was headed by Mr. Fukuya Inu, manager of the plan to eliminate Hydrochlorofluorocarbons in Egypt and industrial development in the UNIDO’s headquarters, and accompanied by another delegation from the ministry of environment, headed by Dr. Ezzat Louis, manager of the Ozone unit in the ministry. The visit was aimed at inspecting the factory in order to resume launching the second plan done by ELARABY group in coordination with the UNIDO to eliminate the Ozone depleting compounds in the group’s industrial operations. This would be done through supplanting Freon Gas used in the manufacture of air conditioners with another Freon that has less negative impacts on the environment and does not aggravate the issue of global warming.

It should be noted that ELARABY group has already implemented adjustments and additions to the production lines of air conditioners to eliminate the usage of Freon gas that negatively impact the Ozone layer in coordination with UNIDO and the Ozone unit in the Environmental affairs agency. This was a critical step towards moving in accordance with the global plan of decreasing emissions to protect the environment from global heating and climate change.
